Yesterday I put her in her Halloween Tutu.. She didn't have a great day yesterday but put up with it :)

I think by now everyone knows we never made it to Paul and Barbara's on the weekend because Friday night Veronica had a 104.1 fever... again. Atleast this time we knew what the problem was. Very quickly... She was admitted to the Emergency Observation room where she was only allowed to be for 36 hours. During this time they brought her fever down and confirmed hat both her kidney's were inflamed and that was why she had the infection. Her kidney's are inflamed because she has a tube going to her kidney that is opened more than it should be - she was born with this so it is letting urine into her kidneys and thus getting inflamed and infected. After the 36 hours she was admitted to a ward because her white blood cell count was still really high - infection - and she needed IV antibiotics. Her fever had broken which was good so she was not as unhappy and sick as before. She is in a room with a little boy who has the same problem and he has been there for almost 1 week so we are guessing she will have to be there about the same time but we don't really know.
She may be seeing a urologist in the hospital soon which is good. We were originally told she would see one when she got out but I think some space has opened up.

I don't think my back or hips will ever be the same after sleeping in the crib with her!! |
In the mean time Mike and I split our time at the hospital because you are only allowed one parent at a time. And boy do the nurses take that seriously!!! There are a few times a day we can all be together for 1 whole hour! Otherwise, I am with her from the end of dinner until her morning nap time, then Mike takes over so I can come home, shower, eat, nap, and do laundry. It has been tough especially with the 1.5 hour commute one way. We try to make her time as pleasant and stress free as possible and to be honest she doesn't really pay any attention to the needle in her hand. She is doing pretty good.
I thought I would post some pictures and a video of her just to show that we are all surviving!!
