Home Sweet Rome: A Very Merry Physio Christmas!

This morning was the Fondazione Santa Lucia Childrens Physio Christmas Party. We had been a little torn as to whether we should go because it was pouring outside. Veronica's physio was expecting us and had asked that Veronica dress in all white. I wasn't sure why but she did.

The party was held in the basketball gym and there were alot of parents with their children. I think we were expecting the party to be like the one we attended at the Ladybirds group. You know.. some Christmas songs, a little pageanty thing, maybe Santa coming. How wrong we were. I don't know if what went on was the usual for Italian Christmas parties or if this was special but... It was more like being at a resort... For the first half of the party all the kids sat in the front while all the physio's and students stood up facing them. They would play really loud music with hand actions and try to get everyone to follow them. What was even crazier was everyone seemed to know them!!!

In this video, they had been trying to get everyone to bark in time with the music...

Barking in italian is 'bau bau'

They first called all the mothers up to dance and this is the fathers. Try and spot a confused looking Mike - You can only see him at the very beginning because there is a very intense bald many with a white shirt and blue vest dancing in front of him.

And then all the singing and dancing stopped. Seriously, it just stopped without any warning what so ever. Everyone ate some pizza and then some of the physio's tried to put together the scene of baby jesus in the manger. This was why V's physio asked her to wear all white, so she could be an angel. HA. They took her and she made it until about two minutes before the unveiling. All Mike and I could hear was her screaming.

Where's Veronica???? Not there!!!

So Veronica never made it into the scene but buried her face in my chest for the entire scene. And then the slideshow of all the physio kids started. Naturally she picked this moment to strut into the middle of the gym - where no one else was and clap for all the pictures!!
