Back to today. I had found a museum for children and thought it might be fun to take Veronica. It is also in the historic centre so I thought we could go for a meal either before or after. There are specific blocks of times you are supposed to go to. We decided on the 3 pm time. So at 2 pm we head to the bus and go into town only to discover the metro closed... ok... we finally catch a bus to the termini and wander through the maze of underground to the right metro and make it to the museum 45 minutes late. Since we were so late we only had 1 hour to play but got to pay less. We go in and it was not exactly how we pictured it.
There were a bunch of different areas with children sized rooms - kitchens - a post office - a bank - a garden (Veronica enjoyed picking carrots!!) but we ended up in the Bambini area and immediately Veronica is very taken with the slide. She spent most of her time stomping up and down the ramps and trying to climb the slide. She did manage to climb once but slid down backwards on her belly alot :) We met another English woman and her 21 month old daughter Victoria. The hour passed very quickly.

Once our meal was over we found a bus to take us where we wanted to go so we would not have to navigate the horrible metro, and started our journey home. Once home Veronica devoured 3.5 jars of baby food, had a big poop and is now being bathed and dressed for bed. She was so good all day and I think she really enjoyed playing at the museum. She was pretty funny at the end following Victoria around and trying to play with her pigtails!
It was a very nice day with ups and downs - downs trying to get there with all the metros closed and packed stinky hot buses - but it was a lovely family day and I feel so lucky to have Mike and Veronica!
Gee, do the metros really close suddenly???? At least the busses were running!!!!! Seems I remember you, Veronica and I taking a very long taxi ride after Mike told us busses and metros were on strike. Looks like you all had fun anyway, Nona
