Then off to the airport to wait.
Our two flights were fine. Missy slept a little but overall was happy and had no problems. On the flight going into Prague this little boy screamed through the whole landing. He was in front of us and we watched the whole thing thinking thank goodness that is not Veronica!!! Little did we know... V hysterically screamed and tried to make herself throw up on the flight home from Prague!
A little fun on the plane!
Over the next five days we wondered about Prague exploring churches, different markets, restaurants, talking to other tourists, spending lots of time at the little petting zoo (until a donkey bit V and tried to pull her in with him!!!), and of course drinking lots of hot wine!!!
The Charles Bridge
St.Vitus Cathedral in the distance
I really loved the buildings
The view from near St. Vitus Cathedral
The first full day we were in Prague was the funeral of Vaclav Havel. It was an experience seeing all these people, hearing the funeral, and thinking about all the good this man did for the country. His funeral was at St.Vitus Cathedral so we did not make it in that day.
St.Nicholas Cathedral
I found many of the sculptures very blood thirsty in this Cathedral.
Veronica enjoying a little culture!
Rubbing the gold on the Charles Bridge for luck.
This is the square where our hotel was. Beautiful.
Mike's Favorite Christmas tree outside our hotel
This was the restaurant where we had our 'traditional' Czech meal. It was not a success.
It didn't matter the food was so bad because the beer was so good!!
This was the Carp we were given. It had so many bones. Yuck!
This was at our Christmas day restaurant which was DELICIOUS!!!
Chocolate!! A couple of tourists came up and asked to take her picture with all the chocolate on her face.
St.Vitus Cathedral
Stunning.
Veronica did not have a good time in this Cathedral. She cried alot until she saw a picture of a dog. At which point she started hysterically screaming 'Cat - woof woof' over and over again. As we walked by this she was still yelling and a British man came over to us and said 'thats not a cat. That is someone trying to buy their way into heaven!' ..um...ok...
Big astrological clock in the square
On the last day before going to the airport we went to a play area of kids. V loved it!
These are the instructions to the game titled 'Happy Forest'
And so came an end to our little vacation. It was wonderful to spend the time as a family and explore another country. I remember thinking how wonderful our world is that there are so many different cultures and places to explore. I feel very lucky that I am able to explore Europe a little bit with my family :)
Thanks so much for finally posting your pics in Prague, loved Veronica's hat and coat!!!! nona
