She is in a bit of an awkward position but reaching really well with her arm!!

Friday morning got off with a bang! Veronica was fussy and spent the morning crying-fussy or eating. Once I had her in her fancy new overalls I sat her in her toy and I started to get ready... What do i hear???? oh no... there is poo on the floor under her.... Quick bath for Veronica and I call Mike to come home to help me get her ready.. Naturally once daddy gets home she is sound asleep!!! ha!
We take two buses and end up at the hospital. We have some time to kill and decide to go for lunch. Our choices for lunch were... poppies pizza or an actual restaurant with a chef who has a michelin star... We chose the restaurant and it was amazing!! We chose the option where the chef chooses 4 different dishes... we had this tomatoe thing, oxtail, marscapone ravioli, and pork... mmmmm....
Off to the doctors! We were pretty sure she wouldn't need the surgery but I was a little scared that because we didn't think she would and were not prepared for surgery she would end up needing it. But no.. we are safe for another couple of months!! the next hurdle is external rotation of the shoulder. Touching the side of her head with the palm of her hand. This and hand suppination tend to be the last nerves to heal. When the doctor showed us the external rotation he brought her hand up to stroke her head and when he let go her hand stayed there. He said her external rotation is coming it just needs to get better and stronger. So we will stretch and practise and hope that on May 24th she will not need surgery... We also think that is the last of primarysurgeries!!! She may one day need a secondary surgery but that will be when she is older... around 2ish...

She doesn't exactly succeed and starts to get frustrated but it is good practice!!
wow she sits and plays so well! Really wonderful. The first video of ronnie shows the position hank ended up in this morning except that I put him in his crib without padding on the bars and he bonked his head :(
ReplyDeleteha!!! this evening I waS standing her against the back of the sofa so she could jump and smacked her head into the wall... ooops. she had a big red spot on her forehead!?
