| in the hotel the day we got to take her home |
Last time I wrote about us going to see the doctor I poured out all of my fears and concerns about Veronica, her arm, and how everything would effect her development. What a difference a month and a half can make. I feel so much more positive about everything. Veronica has continued to progress and with the help of her wonderful physiotherapist (whose name I still don't know) we can see the changes in her arm. I know that she will still have lots of hurdles to overcome but she will find ways to succeed. She can now lift her elbow above her shoulder, put weight on her arm without falling over, while on her stomach she can sort of reach her arm out to try and grab things and when she is sitting she can catch herself when she is falling.
I can honestly say I am looking forward to seeing the doctor to see what he has to say. Neither Mike nor I think she will have surgery. We are not packing bags and will come home after the appointment. The physio has said that Veronica shouldn't have surgery right now because the effects of the kinesio tape on her arm can not yet fully be seen. Since the tape is helping to strengthen her weak muscles it can take a while for them to really build up.
I'm not really sure where I am going with this... I just wanted to say that I am feeling good and really happy about the way things are going with our wonderful beautiful daughter!!!
