Happy New Years Everyone!!!

Before heading out to dinner

Yesterday Mike and I had such a wonderful plan for the day! Wake up, go to the van Gogh exhibit come home, go out for dinner, come back and relax until midnight and celebrate our first new years as a family...

Sounds good right?

Well this is how it went... woke up to an overcast day... found out we have to get tickets ahead of time to go to the exhibit... couldn't get any for the day... had a nice relaxing day.. went to the restaurant only to find out it was CLOSED!!!!

Haha.

Last night after we all got ready, got Veronica in a lovely dress, started to get her outdoor cloths on and... you guessed it! She threw up all over her nice dress!! She ended up only wearing the dress for about a half an hour and then going out in pjs!! Even though most of our plans fell through last night we had such a good time. Walking to the restaurant (that was closed) Veronica cried almost the whole way. We stopped in a park to feed her but even that wouldn't quiet her down. I ended up carrying her most of the way, she was very happy with that!

Along the way we kept hearing these loud pops and bangs.. FIREWORKS!! Italy takes new years and their fireworks very seriously. We could hear fireworks going off all night... literally, from the time we left for the restaurant at 7 until after 1 am.

We got home from the closed restaurant and decided to have a taco night! Veronica ate rabbit...


Veronica went to bed at 9:30 - we put her in our room on our bed so we could stay in the living room. we watched some shows and drank Presseco and just had a lovely time together.

Once midnight hit it was honestly like we lived in a battlefield. People all around us were setting off fireworks, there was smoke in the street. It was fun to watch.

I took a video of the street. I know you can't really see anything but you can hear all the fireworks. It was a wonderful night!!!
